Since our group had a lot of technical folks we wanted to find the pole on our own. GPS is the most obvious, although not the most precise tool. I brought a hand held GPS that at one point did register exactly 90 00 00; however, I was not able to get a good picture nor was I able to reproduce the display (many others have pictures of me crouching and asked if I lost something).
So here is the answer from my iPhone 5. Not exactly 90 00 00, but the true south pole is within the accuracy of the measurement.
