We went to bed the previous night with a “might go” for today. At breakfast we were told to pack up and load the plane.
What awaited us was one of the most beautiful flights ever. Once we left the station we were over featureless ice for about 1.5 hours. We then passed through a gap in the Transantarctic Range which separates the high glacier from the low ice fields. Theil camp was at this gap.
This is a supply cache for the planes and for groups heading to the pole.
