This was the day we went south to Shanghai. We rode the Maglev from the airport, went up in the Pearl Tower, and did a night time river cruise

Maglev

The main airport at Shanghai is located on the coast more than a 1 hour drive from the new town.  To speed travelers into city Shanghai built a MagLev train.  This whisks passengers into the city at 400+ kph (268 mph).  This reduces the trip to a little over 7 minutes.  During that time the scenery whizzes by. This video tries to show what it was like to ride the train.

Shanghai at night

I happen to live in a city that hates outdoor signage. Shanghai does not share this view!

We took a hour river trip that showed off the light displays in the new city. Pay special attention to the animation in the building size displays.
