La Serena
June 30 to July 4, 2019
Our group planned our arrival on June 30th two days before the party was to begin. On July 1st we did a quick city tour. You know what we did on the July 2nd. The July 3rd was an off day. I spent the day doing images (and my wife swam). The 4th we went to Cerro Tololo which is covered separately.

Clear Weather
By the afternoon the weather outlook was starting to be clear. I ran into my longtime friend Jay Anderson at lunch. Jay said the clouds we saw to the north would not be a problem (for us at least).
It was time to return to my room and start the final assembly of my equipment.
