Australia is someplace we have been many times. In particular this is our 3rd trip to the Cairns area. We have not been to Port Douglas before and our reef destination was different than where we went in the 90's and in 2012 so this preserved the sense of "new".
The next day we boarded the boat to the reef. This was a different setup than we were on before. The first stop was a platform with a semi submersible. Once we got a ride there we moved a short distance away and dove off the back of the boat.
The plane was set to depart late morning. That left the rest of the morning for another visit. A Koala from the nearby Wildlife Habit visited us when we arrived. Now it was time to see its friends.
The park is small, but nicely laid out. Guests can mingle with the birds and marsupials.
It was then off to the airport for the 7hr 30min flight to Cambodia. Enroute we crossed the equator again (we would be in the southern hemisphere again in Tanzania).
