Morocco

November 21-23, 2019

We crossed the Prime Meridian and were again in Western Longitudes.

The last place we visited was Morocco. This was our 3rd trip to Morocco and second to Marrakech. On the previous trip we had only been in Marrakech for a couple of hours. So this visit was "new". We did chose to avoid the Medina since we spent a full day in the Fez Medina and reports we heard concerning the Marrakech medina made it sound less appealing. Instead we did something we could not do in 2013 and that was visit a Berber village.

Again if you want to crawl through the full set of images.

Berber Village

Carrie and I were the only visitors on trip. Fortunately they decided to run it anyway. The forecast was iffy and perhaps after 22 days of travel people were getting burned out on adventure. We are glad we went.

Azores

It was finally time to head back to the US. Today was the longest day of travel. 3 hr,10 min to the Azores and then 6 hrs, 30 minutes back to Dulles. Why the Azores? It seems there is no direct air travel to the US from Morocco. By landing in the Azores, going through immigration, and re checking our bags we legally entered the US from Portugal (the EU) and thus all of the people who care about stuff like this were happy.
