Ski trip

I have skied a lot in the past 30 years even leading groups in weather like this. What could go wrong?

  • getting gear for ski trip
  • Equipment. The default ski for my boots was a ski designed for hauling sleds

Well here was the first thing.  Instead of the kind of gear I was familiar with I used my walking boots and skis for pulling sleds.  My boots fit loose for circulation (my own ski boots fit snuggly). I made a joke of having to unlearn my US skiing techniques.

  • bindings used for pack hauling. NOT a nordic ski.

So we set out

    • "Christmas Tree" junction
        • Simon on right
          • last degree folks testing equipment
          • Looking back to camp across runway

The bottom line is that I was not able to adapt.  I skied worse than at any time since learning in the late 70’s.

The ironic point was they had 3 pin skis like mine.  Had I brought my own boots I might have been set.
