Into Each Life Some Rain Must Fall
The Ink Spots
It was not realistic to think that we would get through 23 days of travel without rain. Particularly because Easter Island and Samoa had the worst weather prospects of any of the places. Still Mother Nature had its way with us. We arrived in light rain. The forecast for the 5th was also for light rain.
HA FOOLED YOU.
This was our second visit to Easter Island. The first time we stayed for 5 days. Of all the places on the trip this was the one deserving a longer stay.
An uncurated collection of photos is available here.
Ahu Tahai was located in town near the hotel. Rano Raraku is located on the eastern part of the island and was the source for at least some of the moai. During the entire time it was pouring rain. I discovered my rain proof jacket was not. My rain pants were safely in my suitcase. Here is a picture of me after the morning activities(or at least how I felt)
By the time we got to Tongariki the rain had stopped.
The next morning (Nov 6th) we were out for a sunrise shooting session with Jason
November 5 is my birthday. The cake was a part of it. The show was not.
After breakfast on the 6th we headed to the large volcano on the southwest part of the island
After our brief trip to Orango we returned to the airport to board our plane and flew 6 hr 20 min to Papeete, Tahiti. After stopping there for about an hour we flew another 3hr 40 min to Samoa.
On to Samoa
